Boards
Early
sailors were expected to have knowledge of many various
knots. These knot boards are not only informative
they include a select combination of authentic knots from
“The Ashley Book of Knots”. Designers use hemp and
nylon rope and seize with thread to replicate the exact
materials and methods used previously (and presently) by
seamen. Each knot is identified with a brass plate.
We begin and complete this process here in the United States
and take great pride in our high quality resources and attention
to details. Once tied, the knots are displayed in
the traditional mahogany shadow box frame with brass-finished
corners or offered in two stylish Italian moldings.
We also present three felt backgrounds in burgundy, black
and navy and introduce authentic maps and/or prints.
All knot boards are sealed to preserve and protect the inner
